Today’s Reverb 10 prompt says: Imagine you will completely lose your memory of 2010 in five minutes. Set an alarm for five minutes and capture the things you most want to remember about 2010.
What a cool idea! Here’s what I wrote (although to be honest I took 7 minutes because I had to toddler-wrangle in the middle):
I have 5 minutes to tell you all the things you’d want to remember about 2010. You won’t remember any of this, which is why I’m telling you. Ok? GO:
-you began the year in a house with a group of your closest friends (and your family, of course). It snowed like crazy and you all hung out and ate and lounged and it was awesome.
-you and Matty really reconnected this year. Go and give him a kiss right now.
-you went to a Waldorf playgroup and met some really nice people. Remember Shannon-and-Kat and Margo-and-Bridget…they’re all people you would like to hang out with more.
-you wrote about 150 pages of your novel over the course of the year. You also got feedback on your Maskwa Bear story and your poetry. It was fairly good -yay you!
-you took a family trip to Ontario with your mom and dad and visited about 10,000 relatives. You see that fabulous purple handbag on the coatrack? You got that in Toronto.
-you met a great woman named Anne and her daughter Remi…you guys were neighbours until you moved out of the house in October. You should give her a call. Her contact info is on the bulletin board.
-you said at the beginning of the year that you felt like you were going from black and white to glorious technicolor. Now, at the end of the year, it’s still true. Never forget that.
-you joined the Goddess Circle. That’s why it’s your homepage…just in case you wondered.
-you made the decision to eat as local and ethically as possible (you have a CSA share on Tuesdays). You also developed the habit of meditating and doing Reiki every night, and of NOT listening to your iPod to fall asleep. Keep that up…it’s very good for you.
OK, that’s it. I hope you have a wonderful life in spite of your selective-amnesia!
