Monday Intention:{organize} and Dec 13: Action

Every week Andrea at ABC Creativity encourages us to set an intention for the week ahead.

Last week I set my intention to {play}…to keep things light and get things done without making them feel like work.  And I think I did pretty well.  Things got clean when they needed to, and even if they were a little messier that I wanted, I didn’t stress about it.  In fact, about the only area where I didn’t manage to play and keep it light was when it came to doing things with Xander.  Shoulds always always ALWAYS creep in there and make me stressed out.  There’s work to be done there, and I’ll be keeping it in mind for the next few weeks. (ETA: today we went outside in the rain and spent an hour with no agenda.  It was lovely…we threw rocks down the storm drain and chased blowing leaves and almost got blown away ourselves, it’s so windy out.  THAT is what I’m talking about…more times like that!)

This week I wanted an intention that communicated my desire to take stock of my preparations for Christmas and the start of 2011 and to get a sense of what needs to be done in the next little bit.  So I chose {organize} for my intention-word.  It’s not precisely what I mean…but it’s as good as any, as I assume I’ll be making a lot of lists and putting things where they belong, etc.  Sounds like organizing to me.  By the end of this week I would like to have a handle on the Christmas shopping and baking (at least know what I have to do and when I want to do it), and to have my 2011 Goddess Workbook printed and ready to fill out.  I think “organize” fits that bill pretty well.

{organize} also fits in with today’s Reverb 10 prompt, which asks: When it comes to aspirations, it’s not about ideas. It’s about making ideas happen. What’s your next step?

I’m in a preparation phase right now: giving myself permission to reflect on my life and my dreams and decide exactly what I want to do.  I’ve been making a lot of progress on a personal level, but not so much on a business level.  My next step is to shift my focus a little and add some Work work to my Personal work.  I’m thinking that revisiting the books that originally inspired me would be a good idea.  Continuing the process of reviewing this past year through blogging and workbooks is also good.  And, finally, I would like to rediscover my music collection, possibly make some class playlists, and find some new treasures.

…there…that should be enough to keep me going until New Years!
