Dec 1: One Word.

Reverb is an every-day-in-December journalling/blogging practice. Each day features a prompt that either helps you integrate the past year or envision what you want to create in the next one (sometimes both). If you want to follow along with me, I’m posting a prompt on my Facebook page every morning.

Dec 1: One Word. If you had to choose one word to encapsulate the past year, what would it be, and why? If you were to choose a word to represent 2012, what would it be?

At the end of December/beginning of January last winter, I filled out Goddess Leonie’s Creating Your Goddess Year 2011 workbook. And one of the activities is to choose a word for the year. It’s a very powerful exercise. And this year I chose the word Home.

To me, it meant coming home to myself, rediscovering Me. It was about empowerment, authenticity, self-knowledge, and self-love.

And looking back over the year, I still choose this word. I look at all of the events and discoveries this year brought with it. All of the changes. All of the challenges. All of the magic. And I see that I did come home. Home to myself. Home to my body. Home to the present moment. Home to my dancing heart. I’m home.

Moving forward into 2012, the word I choose is Shine. Having come home to myself again and realized my own awesomeness in 2011, I wish to shine my light into the world and be even more of my beautiful, glowing, radiant, dancing self in 2012.

What about you? What are your words?

  1. The word I chose when I filled out Leonie’s 2011 workbook was opening and it’s the word that describes my year. I’m still deciding on 2012. I think I know what it’s going to be but I’m not 100% positive about it yet.

  2. I love these words, and I also love that you drew your word out, colored it, made it fancy, and hung it up where you can see it ever day! I might have to borrow that idea … πŸ™‚

    1. Most of the colour from the picture came from Goddess Leonie’s Creating Your Goddess Year Workbook (which I wholeheartedly recommend, btw). But I did have it up as a reminder….it really helps! I’m definitely doing it again this year πŸ˜€

    1. Yay! It was the perfect word for my year. And “shine” makes me feel (appropriately) all lit up inside…I can’t wait to see where it takes me! πŸ˜€
