Reverb is an every-day-in-December journalling/blogging practice. Each day features a prompt that either helps you integrate the past year or envision what you want to create in the next one (sometimes both). If you want to follow along with me, I’m posting a prompt on my Facebook page every morning.
Dec 20: Beyond Avoidance. What would you have liked to accomplish this year but didn’t because you were too scared, worried, unsure, busy or otherwise deterred from doing? (Bonus: Will you do it?) (Jake Nickell—my adaptation)
There are many, many things that I wanted to do this year but did not accomplish. I wanted to write a complete first draft of my novel (but I chose to focus my attention elsewhere for the time being), I wanted to participate in a Right Brain Business Plan book group on the Goddess Circle (but the timing was off for me). I wanted to set up some practice sessions for YogaDance and Reiki Healing Dance (these ones were 100% pure avoidance, and I freely admit that).
But there’s one thing I would have liked to do that has been bugging me for months. I kept putting it on my list and not getting to it. And that is creating a newsletter sign-up with my first-ever e-book as a free bonus.
There are lots of reasons why I didn’t get this done. First, I realized I needed to rewrite the introduction, which had been addressed to the Goddesses in the Circle when I first wrote it. Then I realized that I didn’t know how to set up a mailing list. Then I realized that I didn’t know how to link to a bonus file. And then I needed to actually, you know, apply the knowledge.
But I’m happy to announce that today I did my final research and set everything up. So instead of being an “I should have done this, but I didn’t” post (which is what the author meant it to be…I changed the wording to keep the “shoulds” at bay), this post is now a “look, I did it! I am awesome!” post. Take that, bonus question! IT IS DONE! *happy dance*
I’m brand new at this “Mailing list” thing, so please please bear with me if there are issues (and let me know so I can fix them!)…but here it is…my first-ever mailing list sign-up (a link to the bonus is in the final welcome email! YAY!):
