Reverb is an every-day-in-December journalling/blogging practice. Each day features a prompt that either helps you integrate the past year or envision what you want to create in the next one (sometimes both). If you want to follow along with me, I’m posting a prompt on my Facebook page every morning.
Community. Where have you discovered community, online or otherwise, in 2011? What community would you like to join, create or more deeply connect with in 2012? (Cali Harris)
Last year I wrote about the magical community of creative dreamers, yay-sayers, and goddesses that I had found online. It was one of my favourite Reverb10 posts (you should go read it…I’ll wait right here til you get back!).
This year, my answer is sort of the same…and sort of not. Because, while last year I was a (more) silent observer, I feel like over the course of this year I stepped into that community and began to participate more fully, to add my own voice to the chorus, my own dance to the circle.
Even more than that, I feel like I’m creating my own little circle within the greater community. A tribe of friends, soul-sisters, and living-room-dancers. You’re part of it…and I want to thank you so much for that. You make my life glow a little brighter.
In 2012 I want to continue on this journey, to keep connecting and sharing and dancing together. I want to reach out and see my tribe grow. And I really want to have a worldwide dance party.
I also want to spend more time enjoying community right here in Halifax. I want to have more dreamboard parties, host some dancing circles (and practice classes! it’s the first step to teaching YogaDance again!), and spend more time with friends, old and new. And I’d like to get out to more dance classes and events, and have more mama-coffee-dates. You get the idea. 🙂
