Reverb is an every-day-in-December journalling/blogging practice. Each day features a prompt that either helps you integrate the past year or envision what you want to create in the next one (sometimes both). If you want to follow along with me, I’m posting a prompt on my Facebook page every morning.
Dec 9: Party. What social gathering rocked your socks off in 2011? Describe the people, music, food, drink, clothes, shenanigans. (Shauna Reid)
Well…I already told you all about my amazingly kickass Doctor Who-themed birthday party back in October, which was the best party this year. But New Years 2011 was also pretty damn good (I have absolutely no pictures, though. Sorry).
We rented a cottage in the middle of nowhere for two nights, and about ten of us drove out there on the afternoon of New Years Eve. We brought enough food to feed an army. And we basically just…hung out for two days and nights. It sounds lame, and Matthew thought it was lame, but I loved it. We just chilled, talked, played video games, and ate. On New Years Eve the girls played with makeup (Matthew may or may not have received a makeover too. I’m not telling. *shifty eyes*). On New Years Day, we watched a marathon of Man vs Food and people took sporadic naps. I had time to journal and vision 2011, and there were lots of people to hang out with Xander and take some of the pressure off me. It was great. Very low key, full of amazing food and good friends, and super-relaxed because we had the extra night there…my kind of New Years.
Speaking of which, it’s about time to plan this year’s celebration! Eep!
