Once upon a time, I joined a challenge called the Delicious Body Dance-a-thon, created by radiant dreamer and truth-illuminator, Rachael Maddox. I committed to making 12 videos in one month, and donating to Mocean Dance, a local dance company.
I made all 12 videos (and one more for good measure). They changed my life in so many ways. They’re still changing my life.
I donated the money during Mocean Dance’s fundraiser for their National Dance Week performance, but I didn’t get to go. That was the week that the Universe f*cked up my plans. But I got a special thank-you gift. And I got permission to share it with you:
(If the soundtrack is familiar, it’s because I danced to it in the last video of the Dance-a-thon. I wanted to see what someone else would do with it. I’m so glad I did.)
Thank you thank you thank you to Sara Coffin for creating this beautiful film and allowing me to share it. And thank you to Mocean Dance for all the amazing work you do.
An invitation: Do you want to contribute to Footage Fridays? It was fun to feature another dancer in this slot, and I’d love to do it again. Like the Delicious Body Dance-a-thon videos, your videos don’t have to be technically brilliant, they just have to be true and expressive and YOU. If you want to join in, email me for more details.
P.S. Want to dance with me? I’m running one more telecircle this summer, on Sunday, July 29th at 12:30pm Eastern. Sign up here for all the juicy details.
